Thanks for the responses everyone. I will try the 5 to P trick and see if it works. If that does not, I will look at readjusting the linkage. I will report back after I give it a try. It does have the brake locks, but was afraid I was damaging it.

are sos transmission tractors equipped with lockable brakes? been a few years since i owned one but i believe my 64 4 cylinder diesel was not equipped with lockable brakes.

the early 01s were, if not all the 01s. the 4 cylinder 000s were not. I can't speak to the '65 - '74 models
