what would be a good method of removing layers of paint from the alum. pieces on my 9N?
thanks.

carefull non abrasive stripper.. and check the chemical you use, as some can damage aluminum and zinc.. .

pressure washer will help too..

yep.. need to check out some of the citrus strippers.. not the lye strippers... we stripepd some cast aluminum lawn chairs a while back and had to get a citrus stripper from walmart I think, that was aluminum safe.

the regular stuff deffinately mentioned an aluminum issue!

Get heavy duty oven cleaner in gallons. It will attack aluminum but not fast enough to worry about it. Just don't leave it soaking. After the paint is gone you will have an etched surface ready to paint as opposed to a shiny surface that the paint will peel off from.

You can use any paint stripper sold at most auto parts stores or walmart, Home Depot etc. Brands like Klean-Strip, aircraft remover, or citrus. Use as directed and it will be fine on aluminum. A pressure washer helps if you have one. Not a big deal.
