hydraulic valve 631

Would to replace the hyd valve 1 spool with 2 spool
so could run two cyl. One would be for vertical lift on front snow plow and the other would be for the angel. There so many valves out there I really don't know what valve to get and where. This would be on my 631 with dearborn snow plow. The valve on there now is under the seat and one lever don't know the make but has a number it. If get a new valve would like to be able to install under the seat also.

Both single spool and dual spool remote valves are available to fit your Ford tractor.

Used dual spool valves sometimes can be found in the Ads section of vintage tractor sites and ebay. The going rate for a complete, functinal dual spool valve is $400 - $500+.

New valves are still available from TISCO. The going rate for a complete dual spool kit (everything needed to install, including brackets, hoses, couplers, etc.) is around $1000.

as dean said.. used and new valves are available for fitting that COMMON ford top cover ( 55-to at least 75. ) both single and dual spools.

another cheaper option would to hit a hyds supply place and pickup a 2 valve log splitter or loader / generic open center dual DA valve. that will probably run you 150-200$.. maybee less if you find a sale.

plumb the supply and return ports of th valve to QD male ends. on your existing singla DA valve, install 1' stubby hoses with female QD ends.

plug in the plow when needed.. unplug to use the remote for other purposes.

another option is to do the same.. install 1' stubby hoses with female QD's.. adn then get that dual generic valve.. and get a 100$ power beyond plate and mount it under the valve you already have. plumb it directly in and out of the other valve.. and leave that hard connected to the plow.. leaving your other valve for other remote uses. make sur eyou get open center valves..e tc.. either of these options will be cheaper than a used dual top cover valve.. AND give you more use out of your system.

if you have questions.. post back

Thanks for you reply, will be a lot less money. right now there are two hoses about 2' from the existing valve with QD one is not in use the other goes to the cycl on the plow for vertical lift
There is only one connection for the new valve or would it have to be plumed direct to existing valve

So a 2 valve log splitter or loader / generic should have three ports one to cycl for vertical lift and two to cycl for angle

expand on that a lil.. if you only have 1 connection it may be SA.. and or there may have been a return directly to sump

a 2 spool valve is generally setup as DA and will have 4 ports. many times you can make one of the spools operate in SA mode by adjusting a sleave or set screw.. thus you only use 3 of the ports and plug the 4th one so no dirt gets in it.

I think I am getting the hang of it now, so i will just leave the lever on the existing valve under the seat and the two hoses that now go to the QD there and plug in male hoses from new valve. Just this set up bypass the existing lever control that is on the valve under the seat i now use it for the existing cycl to raise and lower

you can use the oem valve to feed another or stack a PB plate under it and run those in that loop, and still have the oe valve.. etc..

there is two connection but only using one for vertical lift not using one don't want down pressure on plow

hope this ok can get better pic valve tomorrow

considering i was wanting to see the hyds setup.. that really doesn't help at all.

nice looking machine though.. :)

Only using one hose now i had two hose on there but did not want down pressure on the plow but it did work with two hoses
