Mine are oxidized and corroded badly and need to be replaced. Once that's fixed we can start her up. I've done some searching in my phone but can't seem to find the part numbers. Napa or oreilly numbers would be great b

If your local O'Reilly's can not find the number which should be as easy as grabbing the book. Yes they have a book with that info I know because that is how my local store does it. Any how if they can not find it just post back and I'll call my local O'Reilly's and get the number for you. I would lever the old condenser in it since now days you have a 50/50 chance the new one is bad

What is ventilated? Do I need those?

(quoted from post at 21:14:06 11/14/12) NAPA Part Nos.

Points #CS749 (ventilated) #CS753

Condenser: #FA66

Rotor: #FA67

Distributor Cap: #FA352

Ventilated points have a hole in the center of the contacts. I don't use them. I've never seen a real advantage, plus they are more expensive

I think what I posted was confusing, sorry.

I use CS749 - Non ventilated version

CS753 are the ventilated points.

I have CS749 on both my tractors. One set is on my 8N and has been there for 4 years now, still going strong. I just checked them and I think they will go for another 4. I use that tractor about 50-60 hrs a year.

Ford cars and trucks used the same points and condenser in early 50s.I would clean the points up and have the condenser tested. The old parts are better quality.Ford used an oil filled condenser that will be marked Fomoco and have a spot of solder on the end where it was filled with oil.Oil kept moisture out, major cause of failure.
