What would be a good price for a 8n with 6 cylinder engine. Runs good good tires everything seems to work like it should. Might have a chance to buy one this next week and do not want to over pay. Thanks

need to know more.

if it's a good conversion it will be worth mor ethan a junkyard weld and torch hatchet job.

if it's one of themore common ones like a funk.. it would be more desireable than something odd / less mainstream.

Will know more when I see it. What ball park price do you think it would be worth. For the not so desired and the funk . Thanks

get an idea of what N in your area go for.. all locations have regional differences based on economy, and abundance... etc.

now.. take that and deduct 25% for a working hatchet job... and figure up to 2 to 2.5x for a nicely done one.

condition and variables will give the the between ranges.

for instance.

a n in my area in decent condition goes for about 2k

a hatchet repower might go 1500

a decent funk, MIGHT fetch 4500.. all depends on market.

seen em go cheaper...

A fellow who used a 6 cylinder conversion said that it could knock a tooth off a transmission gear when they struck a root or big rock while plowing. The 134 ohv engine was too much for the 8n differential.Ford had to make some changes in 1953.

I snoozed and missed on a non-running Funk that sold for $500 at an auction. I bought another non-running one for $1200 a couple of years ago. Tuned it up, got it running and sold it for $1800. Both were pretty rough cosmetically.
