HELP! 1970 Ford 2000, 3 cylinder, gas won't crank with starter. Fires right up and runs perfect with a pull. No smoke at all when it cranks. Have rebuilt carb and replaced all of ignition system. Could low float level in carb cause this? Thanks |

| | is she spinning over real good and fast? is spark snappy and bright? if the starter is dragging and spark is weak.. then she might not have enough dynamic comp to start. the puill lets the bat just power the coil.. etc. post back |

| Jonny..........NO, low float in carb is NOT yer problem. It is usally LOW COMPRESSION. When you pull-start yer tractor, you spin the engine fast-enuff that the dynamic compression is enuff to start yer engine. Time fer a compression test. Ford specs: 90psi dry. New engine will test about 125psi. ........pumped Dell |
