I would not waste your time with the IT manual - you get what you pay for. You're not likely to find much of any instrument cluster troubleshooting info in an IT manual. There's a reason the factory manual is easily 20 times thicker.

Brakes should kill the engine easily, unless you're in low gear. Speedo issue is likely a sensor or wiring problem. Ditto if the air cleaner light and trans temp light are always on as well.

Fix the warning light issue and the chime will stop. I would not disable the chime, as you will need it to alert you if something bad happens.

I wish I would have known that before I bought them from the guy I met at the scrapyard. I'll let my brother know because he got all the JD manuals. I'll let awhtx know because he got an extra FO-4 I had. Just didn't know they were worthless

wpouldn't call the manuals worthless, but compared to the Ford ones they are pretty poor. what I have found useful is that sometines the I&T have different pics or diagrams and you can never have too much information!

Thanks, Bern. Any guess why the brakes aren't operating independently? For the speedo, could the unit on back of the pump have gone bad all of a sudden? As far as the chime goes, I could live with it if it weren't so ear-splitting. Can I glue some foam to the back of it to make it quieter?

Don't have an answer for you on the brakes. Those brake systems were unique to the TW30 and TW35 tractors. I have never worked on one, and I don't have the manual nearby to look at.

The manual attached is what you need to troubleshoot your dash. At 66 pages, it is almost as thick as the IT manual you were looking at. I can scan some pages for you if you'd like and sent it to you via pdf. Leave your e-mail open if you'd like it.

Foam your chime all you want.

Bern - I would really appreciate it if you could copy the pages relating to the speedometer & sender. Be glad to pay you something for your trouble, too. Many thanks.

E-mail was just sent. Let me know if you didn't get it, as it's about 10 MB in size.

Just checked my email, including the junk mail folder, and didn't get your email. Not sure what happened. I'll check the deleted folder just to be sure.
