Fuel Tank Sealer

After I dry fit my replacement tank, just for the heck of it before I painted it, I poured in a gallon of gas in to check for leaks. Sure enough, there's one leak where it looks like someone put too long a mounting bolt through the cage nut on the rear support. Over time, It looks like it eroded away from the inside where it dimpled. Leaks a pretty steady drip. Will POR-15 stop something like this or is it time to start shopping for another 801 tank? Any suggestions or other products that might do the job?

You could use an epoxy like JB weld. Clean it really good and let it dry for 24 hours.

I would just clean and solder it with an iron.
Easy 10 min fix.

Tom,
I used Red Kote on my 4000. It worked well.

Check the link below concerning POR 15 tank sealer. I used it in my take, no problems.

Sure will! I actually had a leak on a tank that the Por 15 driped out of. A little time of chasing Por 15 back and forth and it hasn't leak a bit since (5 years)
