Cracked hydraulic pump centre housing on Ford 8600

Why would my hydraulic pump centre housing crack right in line with the lining pins on my Ford 8600 tractor? It is pump number FD5NN600C. I changed pump. Is there a check valve or something else I should check so this will not happen with my new pump.

Have you checked the relief valve setting. You need a 3-4000 PSI gauge connected to a hose and a pioneer fitting. Plug it onto the remote output and check at a certain RPM. I believe it should be 2250 (manual not in front of me) PSI and every .010" of shim added is 100 PSI to the output pressure in the relief valve.

Any more info? The center rear housing that it bolts onto should be supporting it so that it doesn't get any stress, unless there was a problem on the surface that it bolts up to.
