That tractor has 3 drain plugs one fill plug. Takes just a tad under 5 gal to fill and you need a yellow metal friendly oil that meets a GL-1 spec. 9N and 2N where when new ALL gray but many got painted gray over red to sell them as the new improved 8N

Yes but it is what ford calls for in the newer ones so it meets the ford spec but when new it was the GL-1 90W oil

so what your saying is i should be doing the laundry with a old "wringer" style washer and not with one of the new front loaders which saves water and electricity or gas ???

No what I am says is that the GL-1 was what has been run in them forever and if the system has problems like a leaky lift cylinder or wek pump etc the GL-1 will work better because it is a 90 weight oil where as the 134D is more like a 20 weight oil and if you have a weak system that can make it a system that does not work

Gl1 was used well into the 60s.Ford Motor co never said use 134.My 640 lost lift power in warm weather with 134.Works fine with 90 gear oil.The ring and pinion in your tractor is the same parts used in Ford big trucks in 1930.They used a 140 gear oil in hot weather.Extreme pressure oils came later.20 weight oil is too light for a 9n.CNH came up with 134 they didnt want your tractor to last.Ford did say to add some 80 gear oil to tractors used in cold weather.
