6V positive ground generator Golden Jubilee

I have a 6 volt positive ground generator for my Golden Jubilee that doesn"t work anymore. All the generators I"ve found are negative ground only and I don"t really want to switch to an alternator unless I absolutely need to. Is there a way to switch my electrical system to negative ground? Would I have to get a new battery if I"m able to make the switch?

enerators don't care about pos or neg ground. Just polarize them for either. Same gen will output pos or neg depending only on which way you polarize it.

JMOR is right on the polarization.
I'm curious as to what makes you think you have to replace it.
Its usually cheaper to take it to a local alternator/starter/generator shop and have it fixed.
That is, if the generator is the true culprit and not the voltage regulator or wiring.

I believe Dell on this Forum said that a coil made for positive ground will lose some punch if switched to negative ground. Dell ???

jmor is correct.

gennies will charge either way.. just polarize them.

you should motor test your genny.. it may be fine.. might just be a bad regulator.. or bad wire from reg to genny.

also.. why would you need a new battery if you stayed 6v and just switched ground potential??
