guy's I just read in a Heritige Iron magazine that Ford had a 12 speed tranny when they introduced the 1000 series tractors 2000/3000 ect, I remember a 4sp/5sp and the Selecto-Speed (I think that was it) 10 speed did they have a 12 speed also? thanks for the info cnt

i agree. a 4spd with a sherman combo would be 12 forward and 3 reverse.. or the doofus writing the article counted the 10f and 2 r on a sos and called it a 12... etc..

Most likely the poorly informed author is speaking of the S-O-S (10 F + 2 R = 12 T).

Alternatively he could be speaking of a 4 speed with a Sherman combination transmission, which results in 12F speeds.

Of course, neither was introduced with the x000 series tractors, 4 or 3 cylinder.

Thanks guy's I sure never heard of a factory 12 speed, the aux rans I have removed a couple of them from "N" series and 800 models that had only one speed still working, was these bought through Ford or were they just aftermarket like M&W stuff? thanks again for the info cnt
