My Ford 3600 PTO shaft seal started leaking recently, so I decided it was time to replace it.
I replaced it several years ago, but it wasn"t perfect from the get-go.
When I got it apart,. I noticed that the sealing problem is due to a minor groove and corrosion on the sleeve surface (item #17 on the CNH diagram)
Two questions:
1. How do you guys go about getting the snap in front of the bearing off (item #15 on CNH diagram).
2. Can I remove the bearing and sleeve over the rear drive spline, or do I have to go forward??
