Hello,

I have a 600 and was using the bush hog and when i was finished the 3pt hitch would not raise as if I lost all Hydraulics. Any ideas as where to start troubleshooting ? I will need a diagram if it is a pump.

thank you
steve

gradually die or all at once?

where to start?

1, check hydro oil at the dipstick.

if it has oil, then check to see if it will lift with no load.

if it will not lift with no load, check pump for prime at the top/front plug on the head.

if it has oil there, check under the seat on the option panel, with the plug in it.. check for oil there. ( if you have a remote there.. check to make sure you didn't kick it engaged ) if not engaged.. check to see if remotes work. if they do.. pump and relief are fine..

if oil there under the seat and no remotes, then pull cap on rear and look in for massive leaks from top.

if nothing apparrent... pull top cover for a looksee.

no sweat on the diagram.. your service and parts manual have them.

( what? no manual? shame on you! )

get one at the CNh parts site... free..e tc..

Is the tachometer still working? The hydraulic pump is driven by a gear off of the engine, and the tachometer cable is driven off of a fitting on the hydraulic pump, so if the tach is still working then at least you know that the pump is spinning. If the tach stopped working at the same time that the hydraulics stopped working, then it may be the gears that drive the pump.

First thing to check is the fluid level. No fluid or very low can burn up a hyd pump and if that happens your talking big $$ to fix/replace it. As for diagrams you need to buy a manual like the Ford I-T FO-20

If you have a vane pump and are using 134 fluid you can lose lifting power in hot weather. The 600 was designed to use 80 or 90 gear oil.If the lift works when the fluid cools dump the 134 and buy 2 gallons of 80 or 90 mineral gear oil for 15.00.
