I have a 2120 with a cracked block. The crack runs horizontal through the center freeze plug on the right side. It only weeps now and wanting to repair if possible. The tractor has very low hours and is in very good shape, except for the cracked block. Anyone seen this before, have a any suggestions, and/or know of a replacement block or repair options???

I have Tryed jb weld on it, it worked for a while but then the crack got bigger and it now its leaking where the jb weld is.

drain the block.. drill stop the crack with a very, very small drill bit.

now, wire wheel the area around the crack to about a 1" margin.

remove any freeze plugs it goes thru.

nos solder or braze up the crack.. if solder.. use silver solder.

clean up the bore at the freeze plug.. put new one it with good amount of permatex on her.

that will likely solve it. I have a 58 951 with a long horizontal crack going thru a freeze plug like that.. and she's dry.

adding a single builders cube or a LITTLE, not a full bottle of bars leak might help sediment up the crack from the reverse.. however may be completely un needed.

I've seen some blocks that hald the side was shiney gold colored.. so you can do some amazing things with cast iron and soft metal repairs.. :)
