My son brought His 3000 to me to check out why gas is not coming to carburator. If I blow air back thru line towards tank to release any blockage will that cause a problem? I have done it on other systems but this is the first time I have worked on his 3000. thanks |

| Gasman, There are 4 filters in that system. One in the shut off valve in the bottom of the tank. One in the top of the fuel pump on the very front of the engine. Next one in the sediment bowl behind the carb. Last one in the brass adapter where the fuel line goes into the carb. I have never had good results resealing the top of the fuel pump. Always leaks on me. I just replace the whole pump - $35. |

| Ok, thanks for the response. I have just learned something. I did not know there was a fuel pump on this tractor. This is the newest tractor I have worked on. I am limited to Red Tractors with gravity flow and a sediment bowl on the tank. Thanks for this info. I will put it to use. Wherre is the fuel pump? |

| Behind the radiator on the front timing cover. Some guys say you can get at it without pulling the front nose and radator. I've never done it that way but usually service the pump when I have the radiator off for other work.

| By blowing air back from carb itll just put back blockage back in tank. If screen in tank is plugged it will come out of fuel tap if it has one. There is screen in fuelpump also. |

| I would first drop the sediment bowl off and see if you get gas there and check other things like a plugged vent before blowing air unless the air comes from you. Yep I blow fuel lines by mouth at times to see if they are open and it works most of the time. Of course it does not always taste good LOL |
