I'm rebuilding My 69 2000 diesel & I'm having trouble installing the hyd. pump drive gear cover. The poor picture in the manual shows an o-ring on the cover & the gasket kit came with one that fits the cover & is about an 1/8th inch thick.
Trouble is the plate won't go on with the o-ring on the cover, there is no groove in the block to put it in & I don't remember an o-ring being there when I removed it. Should Just forget about the o-ring & use sealer instead or do I have the wrong o-ring ?
Thanks for the help,
John |

| Parts catalog clearly states the o-ring was only used until 8-31-1967. Toss it and coat the mating surface of the cover with your favorite sealant. |
