Guys,

Whats involved in replacing bad seals in fuel pump? I hear the new ULSD fuel is causing this? I would like to start on the repair next week.

Thanks

What seals are leaking?

It may actually be the injection pump. Its the pump where you open the bleed screw when bleeding the fuel lines. Its a very slow leak but keeps that area of tractor looking nasty all the time. I heard the new ULSD caused this.

It's a CAV pump as all 3 cylinder engines used them by that time... but the difficulty involved in replacing the seal will depend on which seal is leaking. If it's a shaft seal into the engine it's more involved than a throttle shaft o-ring. Those can be changed by removing the linkages and top cover from the pump. Just take note of the spring position on the tombstone inside and the shutoff bar along the top of the pump body and make sure everything goes back where it belongs. I'd prefer to remove the pump from the engine before removing the cover buy many do so with the pump on the engine.

fuel pump or injector pump?

One is very easy, the other can be very complicated.

I guess its the fuel pump. The one that has the bleed screw and on lower right side of engine.
