Since I was cleaning out my rear differential case and hydraulic sump, I wanted to remove my filters in the hydraulic sump for cleaning or replacement. I was able to remove the return filter and line easily enough, but I had no luck removing the suction filter and its tubing. I removed the bolt that secures the tubing. I got the tubing to wiggle out of the hole in the side of the sump a little bit, but it won't come out all the way. Do I need to remove the piece that holds the suction line tubing to the outside of the tractor? I would like to at least clean this filter since it is covered in black sludge, and would like to remove it first to do a good job. Also, in attempting to remove the brake cross shaft that goes through the bottom of the sump, I found that it can't come out all the way because it hits the frame of my loader first. :? I suppose I would have to remove the loader from the tractor before removing this shaft? It looks like the loader would have to be moved forward about 6 inches to clear the brake cross shaft. The loader is heavy. This does not seem practical, and of course I can't move the tractor backwards now because the wheels are off. Another possibility would be to detach the loader and then lift up the rear support where the loader attaches to the left trumpet. But this would require removing the right trumpet to allow both sides of the loader frame to lift up. I think the best way to do it would probably be to put the diff back together and reinstall the left trumpet and axle and wheel, then detach the loader and roll the tractor back. I will report back. |
