My 1970 Ford 3000 [gas] starts right up and runs well. After it has ran awhile and warmed up I can not re-start it until it has cooled completely. It has spark during this time but will not fire. Any suggestions as to what the problem is? Thanks |

| | Clay, I have a 1973 Ford 2000 3 cylinder gas. To restart my tractor when it's hot, I have to open the throttle all the way. It'll start then, but it won't start if I don't open the throttle all the way. I imagine that the float in the carburetor needs to be adjusted, but since I can't see any leaking fuel when it's parked, since it runs okay, and since I know how to restart it when it's hot, the fix is way down on my priority list. Might not be the same on your tractor, but you might try opening the throttle next time. Good luck, Tom in TN |

| If spark is good I would check for fuel vapor lock. While in the no-start condition remove drain plug from carburetor bowl and see if you have a full bowl of fuel. |

| I agree, check how much fuel is in the carb. It should hold most of a cup. It will not keep draining like the older 100 Series though because of the fuel pump. Not likely to be vapor lock though as the fuel lines are all on the intake/cold side of the engine. |
