Update on the clutch not disengaging 3600 School Tractor

I think I found the real culprit. The 2 plates that actually disengage the clutch when it's depressed are sheared off on one of the fingers.
Does this require a complete dis-assembly of the clutch to fix?

After getting the tractor split with some pointers from my dad and Jerry:

I found this laying at the bottom of the bell housing.

It was missing from here:

It looks like the cotter pin pulled out from the top side, where it makes a 180 degree bend. The hole wasn't elongated or appeared damaged, neither did the "shims" or other clip.

Anything else to look at while I'm in there? The throw-out bearing spins nice and free and there doesn't appear to be any other leakage.

Hopefully I can get the backyard finished before it goes home!

Doesn't actually look like much to do, but that's a lot of wheelbarrows full of dirt and rocks to haul into the woods!

Thanks again,
Eric

Just an update here.
Eric, Ken and I have been on the phone a bit this afternoon. Consensus here is the culpret is in Eric's first photo - those two little plates let go for some reason. Did Ford know that that batch of plates came through the hardening process wrong and were too hard so they fractured? So they put that clutch into a school tractor.
Who knows.
Was it dropped? The tractor was never split till we got it. I'm sure of that.
Either Ken or I have one of those clutches around here somewhere but neither of us can locate it. For parts at this point.
Any body got a used pressure plate that you want to get rid of?
My gut reaction is to tell Ken/Eric to replace it with one from YT. But if a guy could find the parts to fix this one it would be nice to have one on the shelf - for your own tractor.
Any thoughts from the board here?
Please?

I don't have one or they'd be on there way.
Any chance of a local bone yard having a bad one?

Can't help with parts, wish I could. I think your hunch is a reasonable one.. why give away a perfectly good tractor? No way to really know I guess.

I'm finding the pictures of the split and of the clutch real useful though, as I can see one in my future... hopefully well into the future :D

Thanks for the pictures!

It does look like it should be easy to repair, if you can find a good one for parts. Be patient, you or Ultra will locate one!
