What front loaders will interchange w/ Ford 901 Powermaster

I would like to find a front end loader to use on my 1958 Ford 901 Powermaster. I havent seen a loader for sale that says it is for the tractor specifically , but there are a lot of loaders for sale. Found severla that say for a 2N / 8N / 9N.

Will these interchange ad work on my 901 powermaster??

also found severla that are not fords, like a Freeman loader. Are these good too?

Second question i have is that some loader i have seen have a seperate pump for the hydraulics and some say they run off the tractors hydraulics. Does my 901 have a factory port to hook up the hydraulics? where is it and how many lines are there to hook to the tractor?

Any help is greatyl appreciated

Loaders for Ford 9xx series row crop tractors are specific to these models and those designed for use on utility tractors will require extensive modifications to be used on your 9X1.

Installation of a front pump on a 9xx model is not so simple as doing so on a utility model due to the front pedestal bolster.

Your tractor does, however, have an accessory plate beneath and in front of the seat where you can install a single or dual spool remote valve to operate a loader and other accessories.

I have a Ford trip bucket loader on my 961-5 that I have been planning to remove and possibly sell for some time but have not yet done so.

My 960 has a Koyker loader Its really fast and powerful it doesnt know when to quit lifting. It runs off a PTO pump. 960 has live PTO so it works all the time and I can remove the pump and hang on back to use bush hog in about 15 seconds.

as has been mentioned the rowcrops are their own deal.. especially with pumps.

if your machine has live pto ( 961 ).. it can use a pto pump possibly.. otherwise toyu are usually stuck with the onboard 4gpm engine mounted pump. the hyd plate dean speaks of cn mount a ford single or dual spool remote.. or you can tap off the plug on top.. and tie the 3pt down or use a diverter valve and run a SA trip loader. can also do that to run a DA loader.. but you need a spare valve you can mount on a fender or similar.

a ford 711 or 722 loader will fit a rowcrop.. they are a 1-arm type loader.

here are some shots of my 1958 ford 951 with a 711 loader.

Where are you located? I have a Ford trip bucket loader model 19-93 (looks like a 19-118 in the other site's manual) for a 900 narrow front that mounts very easy. I don't use it much because my 960 does not have power steering.

little more info for you all''

I have a 901 powermaster, it is NOT a narrwo crop front end, front wheel are same distance apart as the back wheels. It DOES NOT have a live PTO

So where does the hydraulic line tap into the tractor? There is a lever below the seat that someone once told me diverts the hydraulic use from the rear (3 point lift) to the front, although i dont know where that hook up would be.

Anyone got a good pic of where the libes plumb to on a 901

I am in southern Illinois. would drive to iowa for a good deal

One does not simply plumb in hydraulic lines to your 9x1.

Rather, remove the accessory plate held in place by 4 bolts beneath the seat at the right front of the lift cover and replace it with a single or dual spool remote hydraulic valve.

Remote valve assemblies for vintage Ford tractors are not difficult to find but not inexpensive.

The going rate for a single apool (one circuit) valve is $250+ while that for a dual spool (two circuits) is closer to $500.

Two of my 4 cyl. row crops came with loaders that I sold. I don't recall the brands but they were common for the time. One went onto a Ford 800 with just a little adaptation of the front bracket, and the other went on an Oliver 1850 with a little adaptation to the side brackets.

Hello, Allied makes universal mount loaders that will fit on most any tractor,The one in the pic ,my son restored for me and put on my ford. It,s an Allied 350 about 25 yrs. old. I like it.

Recently The old hookie on this site has been making adaptors that let you replace your current pump with a modern hi-cap gear pump.It uses the drive part of the original pump. Looks slick and does not cost that much.
