9N engine knocking

I have been thinking of buying a 9N with a bad engine knock. It has good oil pressure. Is it possible to have good pressure but the rods are not getting any oil? Any chance the rod bearings are bad but the crank is ok? Thanks.

I have a 9N that I thought was knocking, it is a piston slap that decreases with increase in temp?

Thanks for the reply. The knock was so disturbing that I didn't dare let it run for more then a minute. I could remove the plugs and squirt in some oil; would that change the noise if it were slap? Any other possibilities besides exhaust gasket leak or loose sleeves?

If you short out the plugs one at a time you will find out were the knock is and in my case it stopped slapping when the plug was shorted to ground with a screwdriver
