851 pto assy length

I went on this site trying to order a complete PTO assembly for my 1958 851 tractor. They state to "check length before ordering". My tractor is 240 miles away, not easy to measure. Is there any other way of knowing the correct length(such as by serial number)?

Just be sure to order the one listed for your tractor. All of the hundred series and X01 series PTOs are the same. I believe the SOS are even the same.

all pto shaft assy for *4*, *5* and *6* and the 4 cyl 000 series with a 4 or 5 speed are swapable..

Thanks Soundguy, that makes it a little simpler. I also remember reading that it is a simple job replacing it.

drain some oils.. 4 boolts.. new gasket.. etc. 15 minutes if you work slow..
