Ford 3600 diesel skip

Have a Ford 3600 diesel tractor that at low RPM"s
runs fine; but in midrange throttle skips like it
is a glow plug engine warming up. Tractor at full
throttle runs good. Has 2 leaks on rubber lines, 1 from tank to injector the other is from injector to injector. Tractor is hard to start
when cold or after running. I have broken metal
inector lines loose to make sure they are working. They all change engine sound when broken loose. What could be problem? THANKS!!!
 
our ford 4610 did the same thing, ran smooth at idle and the higher the rpms the worse the miss got so we took the injectors out and cleaned them off and re pressureized them and it runs smooth all the way out now. jarrod
 
have you checked / cleaned the tank and filter and ran a good double dose of injector cleaner thru the tank.

I have even filled the filter with IC/ PS type stuff and started it up..
 
If you have rubber hoses in your fuel line it might be worth retightening or replacing them.
I had a high end miss or skip on a 3 cyl 4000 that I couldn't find and finally replaced the short piece of rubber hose in the line. It cured the problem.
