3000 fuel line routing: thanks google, thanks Ultradog!

Pulled the radiator today, checked the fuel pump. Degreased most of the front end. Getting easier to work on this tractor as more and more parts get removed.

Couldn't bring myself to bend up the new fuel lines yet because I still wasn't sure where they should go. Spent a few hours at the computer searching for pictures of 2000/3000/4000 tractors looking for clues, since everyone around this neck of the woods has pre-1965 gas tractors or 65+ diesels.

Google helped me to turn up the pictures of Ultradog's school engine.. perfect pictures to show how the lines are run! Re-posting them here (hope that's OK) in case anyone in the future needs to bend up new fuel lines without having the original old ones as a model.

Hey Greg,
Glad they help[ed.
I did look at those photos the other day to see if they would help you but figured they were too far away to do much good.
I also took a look at the 3000 gasser I have here but with all the tin, radiator, etc on the tractor there wasn't a way to get you any decent pics.
I did just take this one for you.

Thanks Ultradog! That one helps a lot as well. It's funny.. with all the parts on the tractor it's hard to imagine where the fuel line would go. With all the parts off, the risk is that you put the fuel line right in the way of something else. Take a look at the parts diagrams and try to figure out how the shape depicted there could possibly get from the tank to the fuel pump.. :?

Hopefully I'll post pictures of some completed lines here shortly..

Thanks again!
Greg

Thanks! These pics really help, especially for the fuel line coming from the pump back to the carb. Taking a break to watch the New England/Denver game, then heading back out to the shop to bend up the second line. More soon.. thanks again!

Thanks
Wish i could have gotten better pump to carb line around and over the front of the motor. Perhaps someone could get a good one during a tear down?

I don't know how things get archived here but with the others here and 1 or 2 more would be good to have for everybody's reference.

First line from tank to pump was easy. The line from the pump back to the carb was trickier.. the perfectionist in me wants to make a new one, but it'll work and it should be pretty much invisible once the tractor is back together. Still some fiddling to be done with clearance around the carb and throttle area, I suspect, but there's room to adjust with the big loop just before the fuel bowl.

Thanks again guys for the pics. I would have never thought to run the fuel line from the pump to the carb the way that it actually runs!

Here's the "original" plumbing:

and here's the new lines I bent up:
