1977 2600 diesel

looking at a 1977 deisel 2600 model. Supposed to be 38 HP. Any thoughts on ability of this model for much more than bush hogging, and light home use? How about pulling a baler, mowing hay and such. Thanks for any opinions. As always, appreciate the expert info from this great forum. Georgiaboy

It's be more like 32 hp I think... It won't be fast but it should do what you want within reason. 5-6' bushhog, small baler, etc. I'd want to make sure it had an 8 speed with live PTO for that work but otherwise they're decent little tractors.

I agree with Rod. If someone is saying 38 h.p. for a 2600, they are probably quoting flywheel h.p. 32 at the PTO.
