1971 2000 has the Hi locked out from factory/dealer?

Purchased a 1971 Ford 2000, that has the Hi/LO trans, but prior owner had the Hi, supposably locked out so that no one would get hurt using it,as it had a loader on it. (Cemetary owned) will open up & see what they may have done, but found it interesting. Possibly a different issue/problem once I open it up.

does it still have the twin stick on top of the tranny? is it a 6spd or an 8spd?

Hey guys, pulled the top cover off & found out that someone welded a stop/bar across the backside of the hi/lo shifter on my 8 speed trans, so i took & removed it & went for a joy ride in all the HI gears & had no problem at all, so it may have been put there as loast owner said so that nobody got hurt in the cemetary or it has had a problem with locking up in between gears or.............thanx for your help, I am going to need more I am sure
