Ford 4040 Industrial Loader tractor

Can anyone give me information on a Ford 4040 industrial loader tractor. This unit has a mechanical 4 wheel drive front end and a heavy duty loader. It is gas powered and has the select-o-speed transmission in it. Is this a fairly common tractor? Any help or informarion would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help.

What exactly do you want to know about it?
The 4040 is a Heavy Industrial tractor built in the early 60's. The 4 wheel drive conversion is most likely an Elenco. Tony Jacobs who visits this forum now owns the Elenco company. His e-mail is [email protected]. Scroll all the way down on the linked website for a photo of a 4000 Industrial with Elenco conversion.

The previous advice is spot on. I have 2 of the Heavy duty industrials. Both are 2wd with loader and backhoes. They are not super common like 8n or hundred series tractors, but there are a lot around. Both a statement about durability and plenty.

The 4wd would be a welcome assist when carrying a bucket full, especially when backing up an incline. You look'n to get rid of it?

Tony is "The Man" when it comes to Elenco 4wd. A very nice person, knowledgeable and easy to talk to --> especially about old Ford tractors.
