I have a Ford 555B Backhoe that I am having transmission problems with. According to the 555B Repair Manual, I can check the modulator pressures by taking the modulator access plate off the transmission. I removed the 4 bolts that hold this plate to the transmission but there is a bracket that is welded to this plate that the shuttle shift rod that goes into the transmission runs through it. The repair manual does not tell me how to remove this rod so I can remove this access plate. This is my question.
