My One Arm Loader Story

Ok, I purchased a loader from e-bay from another forum member and then had to build brackets to get it mounted and did so with help from a friend who machined the plates.

After some trial and error I found that my tractor already had the selector valve to allow the loader to work, I just needed a hose. I knew the valve was there, but the local New Holland parts people explained how it worked and they were wrong. Go figure. Anyway, for those that want to know, you remove the top port and hook up a hose and then pull the lever forward and the loader works up and down with the standard hyd lever beside the seat. Push the lever aft and only the three point works. Put it in the middle and both units work at the same time. So, I raise the implement I do not want to use and switch the lever and the just raised unit stays hydrauliclly locked in the up position and then you have full control of the other. I will try and post some pics.....

I still have to rework the bucket, but that should not take more than a day or so welding. I purchased a 10' piece of 1" square to make the missing teeth out of and then I am going to weld in the dirt pand and add sides. I will post pics when I get it done.

What do you all think of painting the loader red? I like the looks of the red loaders even on a blue tractor and I can use rustoleum paint and I love that paint and you can buy it by the gallon.

Also thanks to Soundguy and the rest of you that posted pics and information that allowed me to get ideas and make it happen : )

If red does it for yuo, go for it.

Surprisingly enough I have 2 of my loaders painted ford blue, and have them installed on a NAA and an 850. i think the red/white/blue combination looks good and is slightly patriotic anyway!

I run the laoder on my 951 with a selec-trol valve... not as good as a top cover spool valve.. but way better than chaining lift arms down.

Good job ont he brackets.. the curved hip bracket is generally the most difficult to 'create'.

you should find that loader very usefull.. I find all sorts of tasks for mine. my 850 even moves round hay bales with it.. 660 does too.. but I let the 850 handle it since it has a heavier rear end.

I have seen home made brackets on the 100 series but yours is the first set I've seen on a 3 cyl tractor. Good job fabricating them. You will like having that loader.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The brackets are not pretty by any means but should be functional. I have already thought of a ton of things it will be useful for. I had my machinest friend cut the missing teeth out for me today and will get them mounted soon. I will post pics of that project soon as I get some. I dont know what I am more proud of, the new loader project or the fact that I learned how to post pics. Its a real toss up...... thanks again guys.....

Looks Great!!We broke the lower brackets off on the old 830 case, I will have to get you and your old buddy to help fix it. The 1700 lb bails we move took them out.
