860 Generator Lube?

My manual talks about oiling the generator every so often. Can't find any way to do so. No wick no nothing on the back of it. Am I supposed to take it apart to oil?
I only put in about 20 hours a year on the thing. The manual has 200/600 hour service intervals. At 20 hours a year that would be 10yr/30yr service intervals. What do people do for such a low usage case?
Thanks.

Some generators had "lube tubes" for the front and rear bearing's.The tubes were located next to the bearing's and had a small cap to keep the dirt out.You raised this cap and put a few drops of oil in every so often to lube the bearing's.

Eric:

If your generator is an OEM type it will have a single oiler on the commutator end. It will likely be a spring loaded ball and easy to miss. Push in the ball and add about 3 drops of oil once each year.

Ok guys. For the image above, I assume I try to add oil in the hole labeled #1? #1 has no depth and I assume most oil would just run down the side of the gen. Am I missing some piece to it? It then drips out #2?

No.

I've not seen an end bell like yours. It appears to have no provision for oiling. Apparently it was added by a rebuilder sometime in the past.

The generator is not upside down but the end bell is installed in an unconventional orientation. Such installation will not affect anything.

This appears to be an automotive type generator. It has a sealed ball bearing in the end cap rather than the more familiar bronze bushing that has the lube cup
