851 diesel fuel lines

Building a pulling tractor out of a 851 diesel, I want to put a spun aluminum gas tank on the front. I noticed the original gas tank had two fuel lines. I know the one with the shut off valve goes to the fuel filter anf the other line on the front of the tank goes to the side of the head and then to the injector pump. What does this fuel line that comes from the front of the gas tank then to the side of the head do and can I bypass this innany way. THank you

It's the injector bleed off line.

block off? NOOOOOOO

bypass? Sure... just run the line to the new tank.

Uh.. sure if you want to polute, run all your fuel out on the ground.. and start a fire?

Get creative.. it's not hard to think of a way to join 2 lines at a tank..

pour it out on the ground.. sheesh... no wonder this country is in trouble....

That return line will run a stream of fuel all the time, so running to the ground is not a solution. I would think that the outlet could be teed with this fitting, although I have never seen it and I don't know if it will change how the injection pump operates. They typically open up to the top of the tank and free flow.
