4000 power steering rebuild

ok so i went to clean out the body of the unit in the steering coulmn that switch the fluid to the cylinders. and i took out the centering plungers and springs and two check valves but like a dummy i didnt make a note of where they come from and the order there are 4 plungers 3 spring 2 ball plunger and 4 holes any help i tried new holland on line parts but i think it must be down.i need to know which order they go in

I presume you're talking about a 4 cyl 4000?

This second photo is also from Messicks and is of a 3000 PS system. It shows a little more detail. I do believe the 2 systems are very similar though I've never been into a 4 cyl steering box.

I did the same thing as you did on my 3000 style steering valve - dropped all the balls, plungers and springs out. By studying the photo in my I&T manual for an hour or two I managed to figure it out and put it back together. I went to the dealer and he photocopied a picture from the Big Ford manual for me. It was the same picture/diagram as I'm giving you here and no better than the one in the I&T manual.
