1964 ford 4000 wiring schematic

Does anyone have a wiring schematic for a 1964 ford 4000 tractor?My tractor is 12 volt and the alternator has 2 wires coming from it.Or I would be very happy if someone can tell me where I can get a book with it in it.

Look on the New Holland website under parts & service. One of our friends a couple of posts down recommended it to someone & that reminded me where I got my wiring diagram & schematic. Good Luck.

If your 4000 has a gas engine it was originally 6V Positive ground with a generator.
If it's a diesel it wa originally 12V Negative ground with a generator.

Thanks to John in LA there are many drawings that should work. Look through the archives to find them.
Use the one for an 801. Your 4 cyl 4000 is just an updated 801.
That said the wiring for your 4000 is quite simple. I completely rewired mine and it works great. I did the following.
The + wire from the battery goes to the solenoid. The - goes to ground.
I used a #10 wire from that same post to go to the alternator. A second #10 went to one of the posts on the junction block.
A #10 wire from the same junction block terminal to the light switch provides power there.
The ignition switch has 2 wires, one on each of the junction block terminals.
From the second junction block terminal, I ran wires to the coil via a ballast resistor, the "I" terminal of the Solenoid, to the fuel gauge via a fuse, and to the alternator via a warning lamp I mounted in the holder in the dash. I powered my Volt meter from the wire i ran to the Fuel gauge.
From the S terminal of the solenoid, you need a wire that runs to the starter push button on the transmition (mine is the 5 speed).
As before the wire on the other post of the Solenoid runs to the Starter.
I found a 2 position light switch at TSC that had a fuse built into it. I put the headlights and lights in the volt, fuel, and Tach meters on the "low" setting. I put a Tail light on the "high" position.
I had added a volt meter before by cutting another 2 inch hole in the dash. So I have oil, Volt, Fuel, Temp, Tach and a warning light for the charging system on the dash.

If you have a alternator your tractor is not stock so no book diagram will help you. I have drawn many diagrams for the delco 10si alternator conversion.
