Help again !!!!!!!

OK I HAVE A 1963 fORD 2000, FOUR CYL. Gas. Test light shows fire from positive post on battery to positive on coil with key on. Gettin fire from points. I am not getting fire when I pull the coil wire from the dist and not when I pull coil wire from Coil.

Not sure what your say so I'll ask a question first. With you holding the coil wire with it pulled off the cap close to the block and you open and close the points you don't get a spark??? But you get a spark at the points?? Answer that and maybe I can answer you. Only way I can see that happen is if you have a bad coil but as I said not sure what your saying

Sounds like a bad wire from dis. to coil.

Ok after reading your reply I went back and double checked and althought the points were new I replaced them and she fired right up!!!!!!! Thanks a million.

Funny how so simple a thing can throw a wrench in the works and have you pulling you hair out. Now days parts are getting to the point that they are bad right out of the box and it takes 3 try's just to get a good part
