How do you check a 6 volt coil and also what should the volt ohm meter read on spark plug and coil wire. What is the easyest way to check points

If you have the correct plug wire ohm reading would be zero because the wires should be true wire wires. Easy way to check if the points are doing there job is to pull the distributor cap, rotor , dust cover then, turn the switch on and open and close the points by hand. You should hear a little snap and also see a spark when you do that. If you don't then they may need cleaned and or replaced. One thing that would help us help you would be to tell us what tractor you have because some times trouble shooting can be different depending on the model of tractor

I have a 1963 Ford 2000, 4 cyl. I just replace the rotor, points, sparkplugs and condenser. The dist cap looks good and clean, and im gettin fuel

Pull the coil wire off the center of the cap. With the cap ,rotor, dust cover off and switch on open and close the points by hand holding the coil wire close to the block. You should a spark at the point and also a good spark from the coil wire. If you don't get both then try cleaning the points. Some times new points have a light coat of oil on them so cleaning is needed to get them to work

If you just replaced points and condensor, are you sure the condensor wire and the points tang are both on the screw?
