Ford 3000 manifold heater

My 3600 has the thermostart but all that stuff - tank, tees, hoses etc were all burned away in the fire. I have an extra glow plug and the little, pot metal reservoir/tank off a 3400. Haven't deciphered everything I need to make it work.
What triggers the fuel to bleed from the tank down into the glow plug?

Its on page 14 & 15 in your operators manual.
The ignition switch should be put on heat for 30 seconds (Or hold the button in) which turns on the manifold heating element and allows the fuel to access the element and ignite.
This preheat the intake manifold and provides hot air to the engine making it easier to start.
Tractors with the Simms injection pump have a button that can be pushed in to provide extra fuel for cold starting.
Operator and repair manuals are very important to the operation and maintenance of your tractor, you won't ever regret their purchase.

Please read my post above a little closer, the heat from the heating element opens a little bi-metalic valve. Sometimes they will fail open. dumps diesel fuel into the intake all the time, makes the tractor smoke like the dickens.

The system on the x600 series isn't quite the same as the older ones, although you could probably swap parts around and make them work. The newer systems do away with the reservoir and some of the lines - as far as I know, they just use a line T'ed from the bleed off lines to the heater.
