Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for a Ford 5000? Any help would be great!! Thanks

If you have the service manual there is an ok one in there.

what part specifically are you having problems with?

I don"t have any manuels at all. The problem I"m having is I can"t figure out what wire goes to the oil sensor and which one goes to the tempature sensor. I"m also having trouble with the 3 wires that run to the starter. I can only find a place for 2 of them. The other problem is on the back harness. I"m having trouble figuring out the wires that go to the fuel sensor that is in the tank.

Oil is most important.

At startup, the oil sender line has power on it, and if you ground that wire the lamp in the dash will come on.. should be easy for you to track that one down and get it hooked up. once the oil pressure comes up,the sender opens and there is no ground for the lamp.. so it goes out.

I don't have my manuals with me here at work.. so someone else will have to give you wire colors for them.. etc.

You don't state which year model you have and it may make a difference.
On my 1967 5000 Diesel the oil pressure sending unit is located just aft of the generator on the left side of the block and the wire for it comes out of the wrapped wiring bundle that includes the wires for the generator.
The sending unit for the water temp is located in the forward end of the head and the wire that connects to it comes out of the wiring bundle for the headlights.
I do know that there is a wiring diagram in the I&T manual for the 5000 but I'm at least 1500 miles away from mine. Maybe there's a Tractor Supply or NH dealership near you that will have the I&T manual in stock.

Its a 1965. I do have 3 wires coming out of the bundle that runs to the generator, so I suppose the longest one runs to the oil pressure sending unit, which is beside the oil filter. And for the water temp. I think I have figured that out since you told me that it comes out of the bundle that includes the headlights. Now I don't have a wire to fit the sensor on the intake manifold. And still not sure about the extra wire running to the starter. I have contacted 2 NH dealers close by and both seems to have misplaced their books. I think if I could get the color codes on the wires then it would go pretty easy.

if your wiring is still the standard factory colour codes then it should be as follows:
white/ brown goes to oil pressure sender switch
green / blue goes to the water temperature sender
brown/ green goes from the dynamo field terminal back to terminal f on the regulator
brown /yellow goes from the generator/ dynamo D terminal back to the d terminal on the regulator.
Hope this helps

ok thanks...One other question. Do you have any idea what wire goes to the thermostart? If I remember right this was not standard, but an option. My wiring harness doesn't have a wire for it. Do you know how it hooks up? thanks

The thermostart has a large brown wire that goes onto a spade connector on the thermostart unit. It is quite easily identifed by its size and current it carries.
