Overbore a Ford 5000 256 engine, good or bad idea?

I"m thinking of getting a overbore kit 0.20 for my Ford 5000 diesel engine, 256 model.

But I know I have read somewhere that overboring fords can be a bad idea due to some casting flaws combined with years of cavitation for cooling system. My cooling system have always used glycol and water as the machine has been used in climate that requiers it. So would you think I could get away with an overbore as I need to rebuild the engine, and want to get it back to specs.

Or is this a very very bad idea? Or maybe the casting flaws that ford had didnt exsits in the 5000 engines?

I have no experience with the Fords but I have read a lot about the cavitation problems. From what I have read using a coolant conditioner prevents much of this. I asked the service manager at the local New Holland dealer and he told me that Ford recommended boring the blocks and then sleeving them back the the stock bore. He said that they had never seen any blocks that had the casting problems, but then they were a small dealer.

Would this problem also exsist even if the system always have had glycol? Every single
glycol brand I have looked at has properties
to reduce cavitation problems.
