Hey everyone,I have a couple problems. Number one my terminology for these tractors is lacking. The second problem is the real one - I have a broken tractor. It is a part of the 3-pt hitch system. I have no idea what to call it or how to fix it yet; so I will do my best to describe it. On the 3-pt hitch you have your top link and then you have the 2 lower links that raise and lower the implement that is attached. Attached to these 2 lower links is another, for lack of a better word, stabilizer link. This stabilizer rides on a piece of steel sticking out of the "pumpkin". I did not spend a lot of time with it last night because it was getting late and dark...but here is what appears to have happened. While I was brush hogging with it (nothing “severe”), the piece that the lower stabilizer rides on partially snapped off. The area that the stabilizer rides on is still there, but I think there was a threaded piece sticking out beyond that...or was it a screw going into it? Regardless that sheared off almost perfectly even with the section on which the stabilizer rides and thus the stabilizer does not remain on. I looked at the other side and it appears there is very large nut there and I don't recall what else exactly was there but it made me think the sides would not be exactly symmetrical. Does anyone know what that piece is called? Or how it would have to be repaired? I have some ideas, but I am not sure on how it is mounted there even. It appears to either be something that is pushed through from the inside or possibly even cast into the housing. I want to do it right, and plan on getting in there with a wire brush to clean it up and see what is going on over the weekend, but I have to admit I am getting pretty frustrated with this particular tractor (I have had about 90 hours into just patching it together enough to get and keep it running in the last couple months not to mention what I need to do to it.) and if someone knows what I am talking about and what the ideal fix is – it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Pete PS I will take pictures Saturday morning and can post links if that will help.
