What a coincidence! I just got one too and am in need of info too. The fellow wanted $6000 I gave $4750.
The serial number is under the hood. An aluminum stamped sticker.
My serial number is C377632
What I don't understand is that it says Model D5011F. I'm not sure what that means.
I drove the beast home Saturday. About 4 miles. I had my wife driving my 6.5 behind me.
After looking it over I saw "4500" painted over on the front of the grill. I'm working on finding out what year it is. Anyway, I took it back in the woods and in about 10 minutes I was stuck. I drove over a 2 ft deep mud pond (no visible water, covered with leaves). I had two things going against me. One.... I never worked a backhoe, two... one side was way in the mud, bottomed, while the other side was on firm soil. Everytime I tried to crab it with the hoe, it leaned more like it was gonna tip over. Went back to the house and brought back some boards. I put the boards under the outrigger or whatever you call them. Raise the low side with the outrigger then pulled with the hoe. Eventually after dragiing and repositioning the boards about five times, I got out.
That was fun! Show me a four wheeler that can climb itself out of a mud pit!
It's a four speed with a torque converter. No clutch. Very easy to operate. It's leaking trans fluid right where the trans is bolted to the bell housing. It's a big flange bolted together. Only leaks when its running. I wonder if it's just
a gasket leak or it's leaking from the bolts. Any way that looks like a huge job. Oil dry is a little cheaper.
