I have a (new to me) 65 3000 gas tractor. My 3 point hitch is either up or down with no in between. It lifts a brush hog or scoop full of dirt easily. I am buying a new 6' brush hog and am thinking if this is not an easy fix I may get a pull style over a 3 point style, to keep from leaving drag marks in my pasture. Which style do you like better? Thanks

Boy do I feel stupid! Maybe I need an operators manual after all. Thank you for your help.

Yep an owners manual is required. I have owned my tractor for years and the owners manual comes out all the time for fluids and adjustments.

I take it that the lever was in the wrong place. This is such a common question that I decided to grab a quick pick and put it out there for reference the next time the question comes up. Hope everything works great on your tractor.

If it's not the draft control it is possible that the cam follower pin has worn out. The lift cover has to be removed to replace the pin. If you have to replace the pin don't use a bolt use the right pin.

Look under your seat. I have included a picture of my 2000 with a highlight on the Draft/Position control mode lever. Click on the link and you should be able to see the lever in the other mode

If it has a draft control 3ph, it may be in draft control mode. It'd be better if somebody who has one describes the operation.
