Hi , could someone please tell me were the return filter is situated on the tractor(early model <1968 with S-O-S). I have the shop manual but can only find the how to replace the suction filter.I have also found out how to replace the transmission filter & strain. I believe this tractor was assembled in Australia on parts from UK Basildon.

The return filter is attached to a tube that is bolted to the side of the lift cylinder. It is pretty much only accessible by removing the lift cover assembly. The intake screen can also be removed from the top at this time.

Thanks Bern for your fast reply. I have looked at the tractor again and can imagine that it's quiet a big job to change the hydaulic filter. By the way should I change the suction filter or clean only? I also found a round plate (lid) approx 8-10' in diameter on the left hand side just under the lever for engageing the pto. Could I reach the filter from there? My shop manual tells my that the suction filter can be replaced by removing the hydraulic pump on the right side ?
Could you or someone else please help me.
Regards Hans

The suction filter can be cleaned with solvent, however, the only way it can be removed is either though the top or by removing the pump. I think it would be a real trick to get it out of the cover on the LH side. I don't think it can be done.
