You mentioned the trumpets were changed on the 1958 model with the number of bolts on small end and larger studs on the big end. I was talking about the 1957 model and I went and got my 1957 TO 35 yesterday and it still has six bolts on the small plate. Do you know what serial number it was when they changed to the 12 bolt and larger studs? Richard

Richard, the parts list does not say that they increased the number of studs used on a TO35, they do say that they increased the size of the studs from 7/16" to 1/2" but the number used was the same. The studs were mostly located around the bottom part of the inner Mounting Flange just like the earlier TO30. It does not mention that they increased the number on the Bearing Hub from 6 to 12, although they did as we know. Again they don't give a serial number. It was changed about 1957 from memory
I have sent you direct an extract from the Service manual that explains this, but there is no serial number given for the change over.

I have only seen 35"s with a 1958 and higher serial number with the twelve bolt pattern but there very well could be some 1957 35"s with twelve bolts.

Thank you for the reply Rob. I was thinking you meant they changed the size and number at the same time they put the 58 hood on along with the red and grey paint in 57.

John, thank you for all the information. Of course don't go to far away I am sure I will have many more questions. LOL
