I'm trying to use a WOODS 1120 auger set up with my 1954 TO30. The unit will not go all the way down when digging a hole. I removed the auger assembly and the lift arms will go down far enough. It appears to be a problem with the upper arm length,, or rather the connection point to the master control spring. The upper arm of the auger just isn't "long" enough to allow the arms to go all the way down. I seem to remember another connection point or adaptor part to hold the upper arm of the auger. Anyone got any ideas? |

| | Thanks for all the comments folks. Based on the pictures I punched together a link connection to hold the upper pivot point. It solved my problem. The auger will now dig all the way to the gear head. I'll be on the lookout for a proper fitting. Many thanks. |

| Hey that's neat! Didn't take you long, and looks 'eligantly simple'? Seems Harry should have thought of that 70 years ago! Insted of those time consuming machined casting. Great job! Seems this is where the top link should go whenever the ferguson draft system isn't needed, sounds rational. Christmas is coming, you should make a few dozen of these for your Fergie forum freinds ;) |

| This is the way mine hitches up. I don't think these augers are designed to go down too deep, A few inches from the top of the screw so's they can clean themselves, and that is after alot of bobbing, not one drop. Otherwise you might end up shoveling your way back out. |

| | I found this in a search. Third and fifth picture show a bracket I don't have. Is this my missing link? http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ferg&th=98357 |

| Yep, that's a piece someone lost, I'm sure one will pop up somewhere. Must be the distance to the top link draft system pin is messing you up. |

| That piece in the picture is for the top link of a Dearborn 14-15 series sickle mower. They pop up on eBay from time to time or one can be fabricated easily enough. |
