F-40 Row Crop Tires

Built a F-40 Tricycle and drove it today for first time. I have 600-16 Firestone tires on it and they hit frame bolts when I turn.. Anyone had this problem? It had no tires when I bought it and I just thought it would use same as a Utility F-40. Could it have used 550-16 from factory?

Thanks Mickey

just buy one tire 5.50x16 and try it.

if it fits properly then buy the other one, you will have no problem selling the 6.00x16's

your tires must clear the frame bolts.

only ever seen one of these tractor and the old guy no longer has it, so i can not go down and check out his front tires for you.

note to file: he had a set of front cultivators for it, what a great tractor to plow corn with.

the parts book is showing 4:50 X 16 and 4:00 X 19 as what came on the Utility, Hi-Arch and Twin front wheels. It does not give a size for the single front wheel.

4.50x16 would be small for a tractor this size I would think. Guess the factory knew what they were doing. I'll try 5.50x16 first to see if they hit. The Firestone's looks bigger than the ones I have on the Utility 40, ??? made in a foreign country.
