Thanks for your help so far.Ill try to explain the problem alittle better. My tractor was stuck in 2nd gear.I was able to get it back in nuetral by driving it and and putting some force on the shifter. Now I can get it in 3rd,4th and Reverse, but I cant get it 1st or 2nd.It seems some thing is not lined up.If I try to shift while tractor is rolling it grinds.I dont want to do any more damage if there is some already.

Never use force on the selectors or you will bend or break something. You should only need to use the same pressure that you use on the gear lever. Normally you can align the selectors through the oil filler next to the gear Lever if it is hard for some reason, but normally you would align the selectors by removing the Gear Lever itself and placing all 3 selectors in line.
If you are having difficulty changing gears, have you checked the pedal clearance, the free play should be 3/8" no more. If this is correct and you are still having problems then you have some wear in the gearbox and it requires shimming to get the pre-load on the bearings correct. If it is grinding when you try to engage gear then you should get it sorted out because if you continue using it like that it will wear the lead-in on the gears themselves and then they will not engage and would require replacement...John(UK)[email protected]

What he means is the clutch pedal where it comes up than stops push it down by hand intill it stops by hitting the clutch 3/8" should be the clearance before engaging the clutch if that make sense to you.
