The oil seal can be purchased locally from anyone who sells oil seals. The size is:- 1-5/8" x 2-1/2" x 7/8", the seal they will often give you is narrower than this but this seal need a seal protector on it then it wont get damaged by grass etc wrapping around it. This protector is usually made of leather, but it could be made of something else now. The narrower seal is no use for this purpose or you will be replacing it again quite soon. You should check the collar on the PTO shaft that the lip of the seal rubs against. If it is marked at all, in any way, it will damage the seal lip and it should be replaced.Use some grease on this collar when you slide the seal onto it. When you refill with oil, use Multi-grade 10W/30 which is a lot better than the original oil that was specified...John(UK)....fergusontractors @ hotmail.com |
