Some TO-35 Tach Thoughts?

My TO-35 did not have a Tach in the dash when I got it, just the big hole.

I have since replaced the failed generator, which had been replaced before, with a new one wire 12V Alternator.
How would one think, I'd put a Tach back in the TO35 and hook it up to work? Any thoughts on how to do that?

I installed one on my FE35 from J.C. Whitney just like pictured below many moons ago. I'm well pleased with it. TDF

I tried to order one from JC some months ago and after it was on back order for awhile they cancelled the order. Let me know if anyone is able to receive one.

this guy installed a Datcon low rpm tach on his to-35.

looks good, said he got it from JC whitney.

hooks to distributer

do a tachometer search on the site and you should be able to bring up his writeup.

quality low rpm tachs are normally special equipment items and are expensive.

Now since you have made a mod to the original machine you can mod the tach to run off the neg side of the coil.
The engine runs up to 2500rpm so you might search fleabay for a 3000 rpm tach that will fit the hole.
